Morocco Releases Pardoned Inmates, Enforces 14-Day Quarantine Amid COVID-19 Precautions

The inmates pardoned by King Mohammed VI must comply with the period of home health confinement, according to the requirements of the health authorities.
After benefiting from the royal pardon, the inmates released on Sunday must ensure compliance with the confinement measure. The release of the pardoned inmates will continue until tomorrow, Wednesday.
According to Alyaoum24.com, the pardoned inmates should be handed over to the local authorities of their places of residence and sign a commitment to observe a 14-day health confinement.
Preferential treatment is granted to inmates who do not have housing. According to the same source, the local authorities will have to designate a place for their confinement.
To strengthen the protection of inmates within penitentiary institutions, particularly against the spread of the coronavirus epidemic, King Mohammed VI granted his royal pardon to 5,654 inmates on Sunday.
