Morocco: red meat, target of rumors

Rumors report the presence of toxic substances in red meats offered on the markets in several Moroccan cities, calling on citizens to avoid consuming them. Information denied by the competent authorities of the kingdom.
According to audio recordings intercepted by the national security computer monitoring services, the red meats offered for sale in several Moroccan cities would be unfit for consumption. The authors of these widely circulated audio documents on social networks have even urged Moroccans not to consume these meats, causing general panic.
However, the information is not verified, according to security sources who assure that the red meats sold in Moroccan markets are regularly controlled by the veterinary services of the National Office of Sanitary Safety of Food Products (ONSSA). The people who spread these fake news are exposed to the rigor of the law, indicate the same sources, calling on citizens to be vigilant and to avoid sharing these fake news.
The competent judicial authorities have ordered the opening of an investigation to identify and locate the people involved in the dissemination of these rumors that have led some Moroccans to refrain from buying red meats.
