Morocco to Receive Upgraded Canadair Firefighting Aircraft with Modern Cockpit

Morocco should soon receive the first Canadair aircraft equipped with a new cockpit from the Canadian aeronautical maintenance company, Cascade Aerospace.

In a post on its Facebook page, the Far-Maroc forum reports that the Canadian company Cascade Aerospace is about to deliver to the Moroccan Air Force the first aircraft equipped with a new cockpit, similar to that of the CL-415. The same source specifies that after handing over the plane to DHC de Havilland, the latter will undergo the painting process and the final touches, before being handed over to Morocco.

The receipt by Cascade Aerospace of the first Canadair aircraft of the Royal Air Force (RAF), a CL-415, at the end of June 2022, made it possible to start the cockpit development process, after the successful installation of modern engines.

With a fleet of 8 aircraft, including three delivered in 2022 for an amount of 1.2 billion dirhams, Morocco is the only Arab and African country among the 12 countries owning Canadair aircraft. The other countries are Canada, Spain, the United States, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Thailand, South Korea, Croatia and Malaysia. The kingdom received its first Canadair in February 2011.
