Morocco to Receive 1.8 Million Pfizer Vaccine Doses, Expanding COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts

After Sinopharm, AstraZeneca and Janssen, Morocco is acquiring the Pfizer BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine. The kingdom expects to receive a large shipment of this vaccine in late August.
Morocco will receive, during the third week of August, 1.8 million doses of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine. A vaccine that is 95% effective against symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection.
With this new delivery, the kingdom will be able to further accelerate the Covid-19 vaccination campaign, which began in January. This campaign will also be expanded in the coming days to people over 17 years of age.
The Moroccan government has ensured a diversity of Covid-19 vaccine supplies, which will allow it to continue its vaccination campaign under the best conditions in order to soon reach collective immunity.
As of August 3, the total number of doses administered is 24,751,744, including 14,314,037 first doses and 10,437,707 second doses. The Covid-19 report shows 633,923 cases of contamination, 569,452 recoveries and 9,885 deaths.
