Morocco to Receive 1 Million Doses of Sputnik V Vaccine, Expanding COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts

Morocco will receive its first batch of Russian Sputnik V vaccines this month and in April, said Health Minister Khalid Ait Taleb. These new doses should allow it to continue the vaccination campaign launched in January.
In an interview with EFE, the Minister of Health announced that it is a million doses that will be delivered in two parts. The first part should be delivered this March and the second is expected next month.
To recall, the Russian Sputnik vaccine has received an emergency use authorization issued by the drug directorate after being validated by the scientific and technical vaccination committee.
To launch its vaccination campaign, Morocco had received a total of 8 million doses of the British AstraZeneca and Chinese Sinopharm vaccines. The only country in North Africa to succeed in this campaign, the kingdom intends to maintain the course and reach its objective: to vaccinate 80% of the population by June 2021.
