Morocco to Receive 25 Million COVID-19 Vaccine Doses by April, Official Says

In addition to the Sinopharm deliveries, Morocco will receive 5 million doses of the British AstraZeneca vaccine by the end of March, then 20 million doses by April. This announcement was made by Samir Machour, senior vice president of Samsung Biologics.
Morocco will have "at least 20 million doses to vaccinate 10 million people" in about a month and a half, he announced during his appearance on the "guest of the editorial staff" program of Médi1TV. According to his explanations, 5 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine will arrive in Morocco from Europe by the end of March and 20 million doses sent from India will be delivered by April, exceeding the 25.5 million doses ordered, with a diversification of suppliers.
Samir Machour also said that other Sinopharm deliveries are planned for late March early April. He described Morocco’s vaccination campaign as "exemplary." According to him, this campaign is "excellent and very well controlled." To date, more than 1.7 million people have been vaccinated in the kingdom, a figure higher than that of many countries in the world. "Nearly 130 countries still do not have a vaccine so far. The majority of Arab and African countries have not yet started the operation," the official said.
Morocco has so far received 7 million doses of vaccines out of an order of 65 million.
