Morocco to Receive Four COVID-19 Vaccine Batches, Boosting Vaccination Campaign

Dr. Azzedine Ibrahimi, director of the biotechnology laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Rabat, also a member of the scientific and technical committee, says that four vaccine batches will be delivered to Morocco in the very near future. This is reassuring for Moroccans about the smooth running of the vaccination campaign.
In a statement to the Spanish agency EFE, Dr. Azzedine Ibrahimi said that Morocco will receive, in the very near future, batches of Sinopharm, Sputnik V and AstraZeneca vaccines, without specifying the date or dates of delivery. According to him, these new deliveries would be effective "at the end of March or the beginning of April".
The director of the biotechnology laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Rabat also spoke about the importance of the vaccine batches received by Morocco. Thanks to the batches received (8.5 million), people over 60, vulnerable targets as well as "frontliners" (frontline workers in the fight against the virus, security forces, medical teams...) have been vaccinated.
As of March 21, 4.26 million people have received a first injection, while more than 2.42 million people have received the second dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.
