Morocco Reaffirms Openness to Dialogue with Algeria for Maghreb Unity

Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, reaffirmed that Morocco remains open to dialogue with Algeria for the success of the construction of an Arab Maghreb.
"Morocco wants to build an Arab Maghreb. The challenges of today impose a different logic in our relations with Algeria. Security, economic challenges... Today, we need to change our software and think about moving forward," he said on Med Radio.
"I reiterate what His Majesty affirmed in the 2019 Green March speech. Whatever the initiative of Algeria to start the dialogue, Morocco has always been open but in accordance with constants and a logic, namely that the Kingdom will not renounce its territorial integrity and its sovereignty," he added.
The American recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara and the normalization of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel have provoked new tensions between the kingdom and Algeria, the protector of the Polisario.
