Morocco Ranks 9th in MENA Region for Foreign Direct Investment, Attracting $3 Billion in 2019

Morocco is ranked 9th in the MENA region in terms of foreign direct investment (FDI). According to the 2020 FDI Report, Morocco captured $3 billion in FDI in 2019.
Morocco’s position is not only for the MENA region but also for the entire African continent. In the MENA region, Egypt tops the ranking with $13.7 billion.
As for sub-Saharan Africa, Nigeria is 4th with $10.2 billion in captured funds, followed by Ghana with $4.8 billion, South Africa with $4.1 billion and Kenya with $3.8 billion. Côte d’Ivoire is in 10th place, with $2.9 billion.
