Morocco to Raise Cigarette Prices in 2025

In Morocco, the prices of cigarette packs will increase as of January 1, 2025.
Cigarettes will cost more. A 1 to 2 dirham increase on the price of certain cigarette packs is planned as of January 1, 2025. "The increases are under study and will be the subject of a meeting of the pricing commission for manufactured tobacco products, scheduled for next week," confides a source close to the file to the site Le360.

This pricing commission, under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance, holds its meetings every six months, to set the price of tobacco sales in Morocco. Professionals in the sector were expecting an increase in cigarette pack prices due to the increase in tobacco taxation.
To recall, the 2022 Finance Act had provided for a reform of the Domestic Consumption Tax (TIC) on tobacco, setting a progressive taxation scheme for the 2022-2026 period.
