This pricing commission, under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance, holds its meetings every six months, to set the price of tobacco sales in Morocco. Professionals in the sector were expecting an increase in cigarette pack prices due to the increase in tobacco taxation.
To recall, the 2022 Finance Act had provided for a reform of the Domestic Consumption Tax (TIC) on tobacco, setting a progressive taxation scheme for the 2022-2026 period.
