Morocco’s Railway Boosts Summer Service for Returning Expats and Tourists

The National Railway Office (ONCF) has put in place a plan to welcome the millions of travelers expected on board its trains during the next summer season. Particular attention is paid to [Moroccans Residing Abroad (MRE)].
The transportation plan for this summer provides for the operation of 233 trains per day. An effort is planned for the most popular destinations, including Tangier, Meknes and Fez, with particular attention to the routes most in demand by MREs. "Al Boraq" plans, for example, 30 high-speed trains per day, connecting the city of Tangier to Kenitra, Rabat and Casablanca from 6am to 9pm and up to 10pm on Sundays and peak days.
In parallel, the "Al Atlas" service will be strengthened with more than 70 intercity trains per day, connecting central Morocco to the various cities served by the train. In addition, the long-distance night trains connecting Casa to Nador and Oujda will also be reinforced to offer optimal comfort.
For travelers going to Mohamed V International Airport, the service will be strengthened with 38 trains to and from Casablanca every day. This is another initiative designed for MREs, who frequently use this airport during their trips to and from Morocco.
Finally, ONCF presents "Morocco By Train", a multi-trip tourist card sold for 50 dirhams. It offers a 30% discount on 10 trips on the AL Boraq, Al Atlas and TNR trains. In addition, special rates for family or group travel are also offered.
