Morocco’s 5G Race: Huawei and Ericsson Compete for Dominance in North African Market

Equipment manufacturers are gearing up for the installation of 5G in Morocco. To achieve this, Huawei, a Chinese group, and Ericsson, a Swedish company, are not going easy but with big means planned to meet customer demand and to establish themselves on the market.
The battle between suppliers of equipment and networks for the deployment of 5G is about to begin, announces Le360. And the two challengers on the ground are not novices.
Established in Morocco since 2002, the Chinese leader, Huawei, intends to make the country a real hub on the continent. As such, the Kingdom, like South Africa, becomes one of the few countries to host a regional headquarters of the Chinese giant.
Better, this Chinese company is doing everything to become one of the major suppliers of the national market in terms of new generation technology and cloud, in particular.
It intends to soon develop 5G in Morocco, as well as globally without arousing fear and apprehension on the part of other international players, notes the same source.
On the ground, the Chinese giant has a formidable competitor, the Swedish equipment manufacturer, Ericsson, which does not hesitate to pull out all the stops to show and demonstrate its capabilities.
To this end, the European firm has immediately launched itself on the market to take advantage of this opportunity at a time when Morocco is one of the first African countries to deploy 5G technology.
The Western firm has also presented its 5G solution to one of the major telecommunications operators in the Kingdom. Ericsson is, for its part, seeking to capitalize on the signing of several contracts internationally, particularly in the United States and Europe, to convince. To achieve this objective, the Swedes have changed management a few weeks ago.
