Morocco Prosecutes 49 Students for Cheating on National Baccalaureate Exam

Several candidates for the unified regional exam of the first year of the Baccalaureate were caught in the act of cheating. They are the subject of investigations by the Moroccan police. The evaluation took place on June 8, 2019.

According to it, 43 of them were caught in the act of fraud. As for the six others, common law offenses are attributed to them. And, as a result of the investigations carried out, several objects were seized: 45 mobile phones, 5 headphones and 1 "Ipod" device. They would have been used in the acts of cheating.
According to the DGSN, in the exercise of the judicial procedure, 16 suspects were placed in custody. Another is under surveillance. All the remaining defendants remain prosecuted by the justice system while remaining free.
Furthermore, it suspects 21 people of having dishonestly used social networks for these Baccalaureate-related frauds. They are the subject of searches and will be prosecuted.
