Morocco Proposes Reforms to Boost Lawyers’ Social Benefits and Healthcare

The Minister of Labor and Professional Integration, Mohamed Amkraz, wants to ensure the enactment and implementation of laws aimed at improving the social situation of lawyers and strengthening their achievements in the areas of health coverage and retirement.
Good news for men in black robes. In his speech, during a colloquium on the theme "What future for the social situation of lawyers in the light of the laws relating to compulsory basic health insurance and retirement", the minister proposed to the president of the Moroccan Bar Association a meeting for exchanges.
During this meeting, the two parties will discuss the best means and proposals to contribute to the resolution of the outstanding problems. It also aims to identify the best possible scenarios for social coverage of lawyers.
According to the minister, the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) can provide lawyers with better services than those they currently benefit from. However, he emphasized the growing development of CNSS benefits in recent years for its members.
As for the Bar President, Hassan Wahbi, he recalled the different stages of the process of creating the lawyers’ mutual fund, and the obstacles encountered to materialize this project, which currently has some 20,000 members. He also emphasized the decision to ensure the membership of spouses in this mutual fund.
