Morocco Prioritizes Local Firms for Major Highway Project Between Rabat and Casablanca

The National Motorway Company of Morocco (ADM) is preparing to relaunch the tender for the construction of the Rabat-Casablanca continental highway, recently canceled due to the non-consideration of national preference.
This new tender, which will be launched in the coming days, should favor Moroccan companies that have proven themselves in the realization of large-scale infrastructure projects.
According to some observers, the work on the continental highway connecting Rabat to Casablanca, the two largest cities in the kingdom, should be completed before 2030, in preparation for the 2030 World Cup of football organized that year by Morocco, jointly with Spain and Portugal.
With a length of 58 km, this highway will notably connect the Grand Stade Hassan II, under construction in Benslimane, near Casablanca, which will host World Cup matches in 2030, as well as the various accommodation sites developed in accordance with the standards and standards of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
More than 18 foreign companies from six countries had expressed interest in this project, before the cancellation of the first call for tenders at the last minute.
