Morocco’s Princess Lalla Salma Turns 42, Days After Crown Prince’s Birthday

Princess Lalla Salma, former wife of King Mohammed VI, celebrated her 42nd birthday on Wednesday, May 10, two days after the celebration of the 17th birthday of Crown Prince Moulay Hassan.
Born on May 10, 1978 in Fez, Lalla Salma was raised with her older sister, Meriem, by her maternal grandmother in the working-class neighborhood of Akkari in Rabat.
After a brief stint at the royal group "ONA" as an intern, Lalla Salma married King Mohammed VI on March 21, 2002.
Mother of Crown Prince Moulay Hassan born on May 8, 2003 and Princess Lalla Khadija, born on February 28, 2007, Princess Lalla Salma captivates Moroccan women, who watch her every move.
Despite this idyllic portrait, the princess has not appeared in the Moroccan media for several months now. Rumors say she is divorced from King Mohammed VI, but this has never been officially confirmed by the Royal House.
