Morocco’s Prime Minister Warns of Third COVID Wave as Cases Surge

Faced with the surge in cases of contamination, the head of government Saâdeddine El Othmani calls on Moroccans to strictly respect the health measures enacted in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus in the kingdom.
The Covid-19 report on Friday, March 26 shows 514 new cases of coronavirus infection, 523 recoveries and 5 deaths. The active cases number 3,477. In total, 93 severe or critical cases were recorded. This increase in cases of contamination has led the head of government to tweet to warn against a third wave of the virus. This tweet makes Moroccans fear a re-containment of the kingdom during the month of Ramadan, which will start on April 13.
As of March 26, Morocco has recorded 493,867 cases of contamination, 481,597 recoveries and 8,793 deaths. 4,293,544 people have received the first injection while 3,231,742 people have received the second dose of the vaccine.
