Morocco’s Prime Minister Akhannouch Plans Cabinet Reshuffle During Ramadan

A government reshuffle is imminent in Morocco to energize the team of Aziz Akhannouch. Six to eight ministers could be replaced by new profiles "capable of interacting and reacting efficiently in crisis management".
The head of government would have received the green light to carry out his first ministerial reshuffle during the month of Ramadan, according to Assabah. Appointed on October 7, 2021 and officially invested by Parliament after obtaining a vote of confidence on October 13, the first government of Aziz Akhannouch should be reshuffled in the coming days due to communication failures at the level of certain departments as well as their slowness.
Six to eight ministers, both newcomers without experience and veterans, men and women, will be dismissed. The reshuffle would affect certain newly created departments, as well as a sovereignty ministry, which would have sometimes acted against the government’s roadmap. This reshuffle aims to strengthen the harmony and cohesion of the government team in order to act and respond to the expectations of the population, especially regarding issues related to rising prices and the negative repercussions of the drought.
The head of government will thus propose "new profiles capable of interacting and reacting efficiently in crisis management" to replace the ministers who have not lived up to the task.
