Morocco Prepares for COVID-19 Vaccine Trials, Aims for Early Access

Morocco is preparing to collaborate on multi-center trials related to Covid-19. The goal is to obtain a sufficient quantity of the vaccine in record time, according to Health Minister Khalid Aït Taleb.
In a statement to La MAP, the minister justified this participation of the Kingdom by the fact that it has the regulatory and legal arsenal. It could allow it to position itself to obtain the sufficient quantity of vaccine for citizens in a timely manner and ensure self-sufficiency with respect to vaccine production.
In his statements, the Minister of Health specified that Morocco, which prioritizes the health of its citizens, has accompanied these efforts from the beginning by entering into partnerships and cooperation agreements in order to obtain the vaccine.
While acknowledging the efforts made internationally to counter the pandemic, Khalid Aït Taleb believes that today the solution that would seem to hold a glimmer of hope is to find a vaccine so that life can resume its normal course.
The minister also recalled the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding the efforts to be made to respond to the virus which "continues to circulate and spread worldwide". He also called on citizens to redouble their vigilance and show responsibility and solidarity, especially on the eve of the school year.
