Morocco’s Police Chief Calls for Improved Citizen Relations and Professionalism

The Director General of the DGST-DGSN pole, Abdellatif Hammouchi, sent a circular note to all his services, asking them to show respect, kindness and courtesy towards citizens, foreign residents and tourists.
The police chief wants a new era for the Moroccan police. This is why he has called on all members of the security forces, whether working on public roads or in administrations, to be serious and firm in the performance of their duties.
In his circular note, Abdellatif Hammouchi states that "police officers working on public roads must treat citizens well and properly." He invites them to "seriously engage in the performance of their duties by applying the law in a healthy and firm manner." This requires being more warm and respectful towards citizens and foreigners.
"Each institution receiving visitors must attach the utmost importance to the quality of reception of citizens and foreigners, by showing respect and courtesy towards them, and by taking the initiative to deal with their requests seriously and efficiently, in full compliance with the laws and regulations in force," he specified.
