Morocco Plans Repatriation of 22,000 Citizens Stranded Abroad

Finally a glimmer of hope for the 22,000 Moroccans stranded abroad? This is, in any case, what the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, hinted at during a meeting in parliament on Thursday, April 23.
The head of Moroccan diplomacy stated during this session that the return of Moroccan nationals will take place in the near future, specifying that "their return is scheduled and indisputable. It is a right and they must and will return to the country".
However, the minister attributed the delay in the implementation of the repatriation process to the measures to be taken by the Moroccan authorities to ensure a return under the best conditions.
"Once the necessary levers are assured to complete this operation, we will start the operational phase of repatriation," he added, insisting on compliance with the prevailing health provisions and on taking into account the limited resources of the country.
