Morocco Pays Premium for Swine Flu Medicines Amid Rising Death Toll

The Moroccan government is under pressure. Facing a dozen deaths since the start of the swine flu epidemic, the Ministry of Health has just received the first batches of medicines, but at what price?
Quoted by the newspaper Assabah, a source within the Ministry of Health reveals that the authorities have turned to the most expensive brand in an attempt to quickly supply pharmacies and hospitals. Thus, prices range from 240 to 320 dirhams for these medicines in the form of tablets, syrups or capsules. For the newspaper, the urgency has pushed the government to turn to Swiss laboratories.
Still according to the daily, Morocco has already received a first batch that has been made available to health centers, hospitals and pharmacies and a second batch is currently being delivered. For the prices, you have to count between 112 dirhams and 320 dirhams depending on the quantity and type.
It should be noted that in less than a week, 11 people died from the effects of the A H1N1 flu and several dozen were still being treated this weekend in various hospitals in the kingdom.
