Morocco’s Pasteur Institute Refutes COVID-19 Test Shortage Claims, Continues Screening

The Pasteur Institute of Morocco (IPM) has never stopped doing screening tests as some media platforms have announced. In a press release, the institute reassured the population of its availability to support the fight against the spread of Covid-19.
Certain rumors circulated through the media have claimed that the IPM was facing a shortage of laboratory supplies, useful in carrying out the screening test with PCR technology.
The clarification press release explains that since the beginning of the pandemic, "the IPM, in accordance with the Ministry of Health’s strategy to fight the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, is carrying out analyzes in the reference laboratory for emerging and dangerous viruses, as it performs about 2,000 analyzes per day."
It also stated that "the Ministry of Health constantly provides the Institute with all the medical equipment and laboratory supplies on a regular and uninterrupted basis," the same source specifies.
