Morocco Passes New Firearms Legislation to Combat Trafficking and Crime

The bill on the use of firearms in Morocco was unanimously approved on Tuesday by the House of Councillors.
In presenting the bill before its adoption, the Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, indicated that it would complement the existing legal arsenal, in accordance with Morocco’s international commitments in the fight against the illicit manufacture and trafficking of firearms.
It is also through this text to accompany technological development, to face the evolution of forms of crime resulting from the use of firearms.
This is why the Ministry of the Interior has developed a document in line with international standards, and which takes into account the wishes of the various actors in the sector.
