Morocco: Over 80% of Parents Choose In-Person Schooling for Fall Reopening

The Minister of National Education indicated that more than 80% of families have opted for face-to-face teaching, up until this Thursday morning. Saaïd Amzazi made this announcement during a presentation on the 2020-2021 school year before the members of the Government Council.
During the press conference held at the end of this Government Council, Saaïd Amzazi detailed the measures taken by his department for a successful organization of this school year.
This school year will be prepared in coordination with the local and health authorities, through the activation of the educational organization, the implementation of the health protocol, and the preparation for the reception of students from Monday, September 7, in accordance with the established schedule. It should be noted that there is a strong involvement of all components of society, particularly the educational and administrative staff and the associations of parents and guardians of students.
For his part, Khalid Ait Taleb, Minister of Health, presented to the Council members the current epidemiological situation in Morocco. In his presentation, he reported on the evolution of the indicators, the cumulative incidence rate, the fatality rate and the recovery rate, as well as the number of confirmed cases, critical cases, deaths and recovered persons. Essentially, it should be noted that out of 2,001,124 cases tested, 66,855 are confirmed positive for Covid-19, including 51,223 recovered people, and 1,253 deaths, according to La Map.
