Morocco to Outlaw Hotels’ Discrimination Against Single Women, Justice Minister Says

The draft Penal Code provides for sanctions against hotels that refuse access to women residing in the same city, warned Abdellatif Ouahbi, the Minister of Justice.
These acts will constitute an offense or a crime, which will allow women to file complaints against hotels, Ouahbi said in a press statement, specifying that it is not possible to grant licenses, facilities and security to an establishment that is unable to provide services to all citizens.
"It’s like with taxis... It is inconceivable that a license be granted to a taxi that refuses to provide a service to citizens by refusing to take them to their destination and imposing conditions. Therefore, we will turn this issue into a crime punishable by law," he added.
The member of the government also spoke out against the ban on the TikTok application in Morocco, assuring that prison sentences are provided for in the draft Penal Code against the authors of defamation on this social network. "The ’YouTubers’ who make statements against officials and ministers as they wish," will not be spared, Ouahbi warned.
