Morocco Offers Sinopharm and AstraZeneca COVID Vaccines Based on Availability

People being vaccinated against the coronavirus can choose between the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine or the British AstraZeneca vaccine, says a source close to the Ibn Sina University Hospital in Rabat. The two vaccines are practically equally effective (79% for the Sinopharm vaccine and 70% for the AstraZeneca vaccine).
The vaccination campaign continues in the different regions and provinces of the kingdom. Two days after its launch by King Mohammed VI, healthcare professionals over the age of 40 are being summoned to receive their first dose of the vaccine.
Kenza Naimi, the communication manager of the Ibn Sina University Hospital in Rabat, interviewed by Hespress, confirmed that no one is aware of the type of vaccine they are receiving. This "depends on the stocks" available in the central pharmacy, delivered by the Ministry of Health, she continues before reassuring that all the directives of the Ministry of Health are followed to the letter in the vaccination centers.
For the moment, the center only welcomes people exposed to the coronavirus. It is not yet open to the general public for vaccination, specifies Kenza Naimi. A few hours after the start of this campaign, no complaints have been received about side effects. "The people who came to get vaccinated were serene, had no apprehensions or anxiety," she added.
