Morocco’s OCP Group Signs Fertilizer Deal with India to Boost Agricultural Innovation

During a visit to Morocco by Mansukh Mandaviya, Indian Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, the Moroccan giant OCP and major Indian fertilizer players in India signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs).
There is now a partnership between the OCP Group and India. The latter are joining forces to carry out joint research and development initiatives and to jointly promote innovative fertilization solutions, offer customized fertilizers that meet the specific needs of Indian farmers, in close collaboration with the players in the agricultural ecosystem (public sector, agronomic institutes, agricultural federations, farmers...).

Thus, memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed between OCP Group leaders and major public and private Indian fertilizer producers, in the presence of Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Indian Minister of Health, Chemicals and Fertilizers, Shri Rajesh Vaishnaw, Indian Ambassador to Morocco and Mostafa Terrab, Chairman and CEO of the OCP Group. These agreements provide that the Moroccan giant OCP will supply India with up to 1.7 million metric tons (MT) of phosphate fertilizers for the agricultural season over the next twelve months: 700,000 MT of triple superphosphate (TSP) and 1,000,000 tons of diammonium phosphate (DAP).
"We are delighted by India’s interest in our customized solution (TSP) which contributes significantly to increasing yields, improving farmers’ incomes and accelerating the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices," said Soufiyane El Kassi, CEO of OCP Nutricrops, the subsidiary dedicated to soil and plant fertilization solutions.
