Morocco’s National Airline Plans Massive Expansion, New Casablanca Airport

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has big plans for its future. During an oral question session in the House of Representatives, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, unveiled an ambitious plan for the national company, even mentioning the construction of a new airport in Casablanca.
Thus, by 2033, RAM plans to multiply its fleet by five, going from 50 to 250 aircraft. A dazzling expansion that will allow the Moroccan company to serve new destinations around the world.
Among the announced novelties, the minister notably mentioned the opening of air routes connecting Casablanca to Toronto, Canada, and São Paulo, Brazil. Strategic links that would confirm Morocco’s desire to strengthen its ties with North and South America.
But that’s not all! To support this growth, a new airport will be built in Casablanca. Named Mohammed V, like the current airport, it will be able to accommodate 20 million passengers. Its particularity? It will be specialized in long-haul flights, particularly those lasting 14 to 15 hours. This will make the economic capital a true air hub, connecting Africa to Europe and the Americas.
