Morocco Modernizes Bab Sebta Border Crossing, Awaits Reopening with Spain

The Bab Sebta border post is ready to resume service, after the renovation and modernization work undertaken by the Moroccan authorities during the border closure period, to bring it up to standard.
The Moroccan authorities took advantage of the period of closure of the borders with Spain to carry out renovation work on the Bab Sebta border post. The facilities of the post have been completely renovated and modernized.
The brand new border post is just waiting to be put into service, which depends on the reopening of the borders. According to sources contacted by Bladi.net, this reopening could take place this summer, thanks to the Marhaba Operation whose preparations have already started on the Algeciras side.
For the moment, neither Morocco nor Spain have confirmed the holding of the Marhaba Operation. The completion of the renovation work on the Bab Sebta border post could motivate the Moroccan authorities to start the preparations, pending reaching collective immunity at the end of the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination campaign.
