Morocco’s Massive Solar Plant Aims to Power 50% of Country by 2030

The world’s largest solar power station is located in Ouarzazate, Morocco. Thanks to this major investment, the Kingdom intends, according to TF1, to produce 50% of its electricity by 2030.
An extraordinary site planted right in the heart of the desert, the Ouarzazate Solar Power Station, the largest in the world, with its two million panels, lined up one after the other and spread over more than 32 km2, the size of the city of Lille, is a gem.
This monster of solar energy is the most productive in the world and supplies electricity to two million people throughout Morocco, reports the same media. Moreover, thanks to this investment by the Moroccan government, several regions have experienced their development. This is the case of the village of Ghassate, at the foot of the Atlas, 25 kilometers from the plant, which was one of the first to be connected to the drinking water network of the site.
To this must be added the opening up of the area, through the construction of roads that have replaced village paths in the surrounding areas, not to mention that more than 400 people, mostly from the region, have found work.
