Morocco’s Marrakech-Agadir High-Speed Rail: Cornerstone of Economic Vision

The new High Speed Line (LGV) connecting Marrakech to Agadir should be seen as the foundation of the new development system that King Mohammed VI is working to imprint on Morocco.
This royal project presents itself as a true symbol of economic growth that attracts attention and calls for much hope.
According to the daily Al Massae, if all the five-year plans initiated by Morocco have generally failed, it is because they do not take into account the importance of the continuous deployment of the "rail vision".
For the media, the role of the locomotive in the economy can be summed up in three words: speed, efficiency and vision for the future. The most illustrative example is the introduction of the Tangier-Casablanca LGV, which has sparked a major socio-economic dynamic in record time, generating huge investments. Furthermore, the development of the Tangier-Kénitra-Casablanca axis testifies to the repercussions of the royal vision on other regions, in order to promote economic dynamism.
While highways have strongly contributed to supporting regional economic awakening, the "Marrakech-Agadir LGV, the starting point for a continuous extension towards the south, will be the lever with which Morocco will definitively end inequalities between its different regions," the daily adds.
In this dynamic, the State, according to the newspaper, must not shrink from anything to achieve this ideal that Moroccans dream of, namely to move up a gear.
