Morocco Mandates Social Security Registration for Domestic Workers

Since Wednesday, June 3, domestic workers must be declared to the National Social Security Fund (CNSS). The decision was announced by the Minister of Employment and Professional Integration.
In his speech before the Parliamentary Committee responsible for the control of public finances, Mohamed Amkraz stated that 1,329 people had taken the initiative to declare their domestic staff, for a total of 1,632 employees.
Law 19.12, which came into force last year and defines the status of domestic employees, makes it possible to regulate this function and define the rights and obligations.
Thus, from June 3, employers are required to consider their staff as employees, who are entitled to a period of leave, an employment contract, health insurance, in addition to mandatory registration with the CNSS.
