Morocco Mandates Legible Prescriptions in New Medical Ethics Code

Moroccan doctors will have to make themselves understood by improving their handwriting. This is the subject of a long-awaited decree on medical personnel that has just been published in the Official Journal.
Article 39 of this decree on the code of ethics recently published, specifies that doctors must prescribe their treatments with a sufficient degree of clarity.
In Morocco and around the world, medical prescriptions are often written in a style that makes them practically illegible for patients and their families, or even for pharmacists themselves.
The new decree, which requires them to take care of their handwriting, will, it is hoped, correct this practice. Its adoption sounds like a victory for many Moroccan patients unable to decipher the medical prescription.
