Morocco Makes Face Masks Mandatory as COVID-19 Precaution

Wearing a mask has become mandatory in Morocco since yesterday, Wednesday, April 8. In a press release, the Ministry of Health warned against violating this established rule.
The fight against coronavirus is everyone’s business, and all Moroccans are called upon to play their part so that the country emerges victorious from this difficult ordeal. The Ministry of Health, for the success of this new measure which makes the wearing of masks mandatory, "warns against fraud and misuse of protective masks in Morocco." The health department has specified "the essential steps for proper use of protective masks, first and foremost the need to wash hands thoroughly with soap and water or hydroalcoholic gel."
It is also necessary to ensure that the mask used is not perforated, to cover the nose and mouth well, making sure that there is no space between the face and the mask. The press release indicates that it is necessary "to ensure that the folds or the colored part (depending on the model) are on the outside," adding that it is also necessary to pinch the nasal bridge to adjust the mask at the level of the nose and lower the bottom of the mask under the chin. The ministry also recommends avoiding touching the mask with your hands once it has been placed on the face. Once the mask is removed, the hands must be washed again with soap and water or hydroalcoholic gel.
The ministry calls on everyone’s sense of responsibility and civic-mindedness. It also recommended complying with the rules of hygiene by "regularly washing hands, cleaning touched surfaces and adopting a healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet, good quality sleep and physical exercise at home".
