Morocco Maintains GMT+1 Time as Europe Shifts to Winter Schedule

Unlike many countries in the world, especially in Europe, Morocco did not change time last night. It therefore keeps the GMT+1 time.
European countries switched to winter time last night, Saturday to Sunday, by turning their clocks back one hour. Since this Sunday, October 29, the kingdom has the same time as most European countries. When it is 9 a.m. in Rabat, it is also 9 a.m. in Paris, Madrid or Brussels.
The government had approved in October 2018 the decree establishing the maintenance of summer time (GMT+1) throughout the year. This decree, which provides for the possible change of time by government decision, in particular during the holy month of Ramadan, had not been unanimous at the time.
