Morocco Limits COVID-19 Testing to Three Authorized Facilities

Only two institutes and one hospital are authorized and approved in Morocco to perform biological tests for the confirmation and monitoring of the SARS COV2 virus.
With the exception of the Rabat Hygiene Institute, the Pasteur Institute of Morocco in Casablanca and the laboratory of the Mohammed V Military Teaching Hospital in Rabat, (no) other health institute can perform biological tests to confirm or refute cases tested positive for the coronavirus, according to a press release from the Ministry of Health.
The national strategy pays particular attention to biological tests for confirmation and monitoring as part of the public health measures taken to fight the pandemic related to the SARS COV2 virus.
The ministry also specified that these three structures are authorized, given the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom, the specificity of the tests, and the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO).
This public health protection measure, which is in line with Law 34-09 (Articles 3, 6, 7 and 8), will remain in effect until further notice.
