Morocco Lifts COVID-19 Curfew, Expands Vaccine Pass Requirements

The announcement had been expected for many weeks, and it is now a done deal. The government has just ended the main restrictive measures affecting Moroccans since the start of the epidemic, while strengthening the use of the vaccination pass.
Thus, from tomorrow, the authorities will end the ban on night travel throughout the national territory. The government justifies this measure by the improvement of the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom and the end of the third wave that has hit Morocco since last summer.
However, the vaccination pass remains mandatory for any travel abroad or access to all closed spaces such as workplaces, tourist establishments, shops, cafes, restaurants, gyms or other public services.
Similarly, it is no longer mandatory to present the vaccination pass to travel between prefectures or provinces. This will also be the case for the organization of funerals, ceremonies and parties, which must compulsorily respect the preventive measures in force. Large gatherings, such as concerts or sporting events, will not be able to accommodate a large number of spectators.
And to warn that it will proceed to a regular evaluation on the ground, ensure a meticulous monitoring of all daily developments at the regional and local levels and take the necessary closure measures to preserve the health of citizens.
