Morocco Leads Vaccination Efforts, Outpacing European Countries

The vaccination campaign in Morocco is a great success in terms of organization, strategies and citizen participation, as more than 3 million Moroccans have already received their first dose of vaccine. A record, according to the German magazine Welt, which argues that Morocco remains an example, both in the management of the pandemic and in the organization of the vaccination campaign.
Thanks to a well-defined strategy, Morocco is progressing gradually in order to vaccinate 80% of the adult population, or about 25 million people. Many European countries are still dragging their feet, while Morocco is fighting to get out of the health crisis. In Germany for example, the average is currently 126,806 people vaccinated per day, reports the MAP.
Since the beginning of the pandemic and the appearance of the first cases, Morocco has multiplied offensives on all fronts. Research and inventions have been directed towards the fight against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. Restrictive measures were taken very early on, even if it was difficult for the population. These include the suspension of air links, the closure of schools, the implementation of confinement and the adoption of the obligation to wear a mask.
The German magazine also highlights Morocco’s strategy, which has consisted of strengthening its local production of masks, setting up hospital infrastructure, and new generation equipment. Hicham Sbai, head of the "Covid-19" intensive care unit at the Mohammed VI Hospital in Tangier, said in a statement to Welt that "Morocco’s success is due to its national strategy involving all institutions and actors at the national and regional level".
