Moroccans Lead in French Visa Applications, Topping 300,000 in 2023

Moroccans are at the top of visa applicants for France in 2023, with more than 300,000 requests recorded. Proof that the Hexagon remains a destination of choice for nationals of the kingdom.
With 310,057 applications filed in 2023, Moroccans remain at the top of visa applicants for France. They are closely followed by Algerians with 279,005 applications, Chinese (271,111), Indians (176,237) and Saudis (145,096).
In 2023, a total of 10,327,572 Schengen visa applications were recorded worldwide, representing an increase of 36.3% compared to the previous year. However, these figures are still lower than the 16,955,541 applications recorded in 2019 before the Covid-19 pandemic, it is specified.
In the Schengen area, five member countries received about 70% of all visa applications, or 7.2 million. These are France with 2,625,846 visas granted, Germany with 1,459,560 visas issued, Spain with 1,413,222 applications processed, Italy with 1,108,035 applications recorded and the Netherlands with 669,291 visas issued.
