Morocco Launches Study to Assess COVID-19 Antibody Prevalence in Population

The Pasteur Institute of Casablanca and the Ministry of Health are currently conducting a study on the collective immunity of Moroccans to Covid-19.
In order to determine the presence of specific antibodies developed against the coronavirus, a study on the collective immunity of Moroccans is being carried out by the Ministry of Health and the Pasteur Institute of Casablanca. Serological studies have been carried out on a sample of 85,000 blood donors within the Institute.
The revealed rate is 0.7%. A figure described as low compared to that calculated in European countries. However, this rate gives a glimmer of hope, especially since it means that the spread of the virus remains under control, says the director of the Pasteur Institute.
However, compliance with barrier gestures against the spread of the virus must be maintained while awaiting a second study on vulnerable people.
