Morocco Launches Search for Oscar Entry in International Feature Film Category

A few months before the 95th edition of the prestigious Oscars competition, the Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM) has launched a call for projects in order to find the film capable of representing Morocco, in the category of international feature film.
Organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), the 95th Oscars ceremony will be held on March 12, 2023 in Los Angeles. The CCM commission has until September to make its choice. But for that, the films submitted to the commission would have to meet certain criteria, such as lasting more than 40 minutes, being produced outside the United States in a foreign language other than English.
The proposed films must have been screened in cinemas in Morocco between January 1 and November 30, 2022, or for at least seven consecutive days. The call for projects is also open to directors and producers of animated films and documentaries. The application files of interested candidates are expected before August 19, 2022.
