Morocco launches a public platform to track convicts tried in absentia

This initiative marks a key step in the modernization of the Moroccan judicial system. By making public the data of persons prosecuted in absentia, the ministry intends to remedy the structural delays related to defendants who systematically ignore official summons and escape the closure of their cases.

The system offers transparent access to several critical information for legal auxiliaries and the general public. In a few clicks, it is possible to consult the full identity of the prosecuted - including their national ID number and lineage - as well as the charges, the case number and the issuing court.

Beyond the technical aspect, the authorities are calling for the immediate regularization of criminal situations. The ministry summons the listed individuals to present themselves to the competent services, while soliciting citizen cooperation to report any information that could locate the persons concerned.

This measure is part of the rigorous application of the Code of Criminal Procedure. For the institution, the ultimate goal is to restore public confidence by ensuring that the law prevails, using the digital lever to break the opacity surrounding the pending cases.
