Morocco Launches Online Platform for Citizenship Applications, Advancing Digital Justice Reforms

The application for Moroccan nationality is now possible online, announced on Monday the Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi.
Responding on Monday to an oral question from PAM (Authenticity and Modernity Party) deputy Najwa Koukous on the progress of the digitization project in the judicial sector, Abdellatif Ouahbi said that his department would "launch on January 9 a new platform for online nationality applications, like the one dedicated to criminal record requests."
"We are trying to accelerate the digitization project in the sector through the implementation of several interconnected applications. We have created applications in particular for filing requests for royal pardon and conditional release, a platform for electronic payment of fines and road offenses..." he added.
The Minister of Justice did not fail to mention the implementation difficulties of this project by his department, related in particular to "the multitude of papers, correspondence and documents but also because our civil servants have a legal and not a technical culture".
