Morocco Launches Online Payment System for Speed Camera Fines

Fines related to offenses and misdemeanors reported by fixed speed cameras, previously referred to the courts, will now be paid online. The new service was launched on Friday by the Minister of Justice.
Developed by the National Road Safety Agency (NARSA) in partnership with the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG), this electronic platform will facilitate the rapid and secure settlement of offenses and misdemeanors reported by fixed speed cameras and referred to the courts, the minister explained.
This service is directly accessible via the website amendes.justice.gov.ma as well as through the portal mahakim.ma, by entering the number of the report appearing on the notification sent by Narsa to confirm the pronouncement of the judgment and the amount of the fine.
The platform will request the applicant’s information, including their email address, as well as the payment data for the CMI, a ministry press release specifies. Once the payment is verified, an email is sent to the applicant to confirm the process and update the file data indicating that the fine has been paid.
In addition, the minister stressed that the increase in the number of new speed cameras paved the way for guaranteeing transparency in the issuance of reports and reducing traffic offenses and accidents.
