In a statement, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Air Transport, and Social Economy, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, said that a special system has been put in place, including the authorization of nearly a hundred special flights, which have allowed the repatriation of several thousand tourists.
This is in addition to the increase in the capacity of the last commercial flights of Royal Air Maroc and the number of rotations, the mobilization of all the competent authorities in several airports, as well as the awareness-raising of tour operators and their partner companies.
According to the minister, Morocco’s action has been made in a spirit of dialogue and responsibility towards these foreign tourists. For Nadia Fettah Alaoui, Morocco is not acting by injunction or on an inappropriate order from foreign authorities, but rather treats tourists of all nationalities on an equal footing.
The Minister of Tourism did not fail to recall that the Kingdom took the measure of the Coronavirus problem very early on and remains among the first countries to take drastic but necessary measures. According to her, the majority of cases of infection in Morocco are imported cases, mainly from three European countries.
