Morocco Launches Industrial Zone in Fnideq to Boost Economy After Ceuta Border Closure

The local authorities of the city of Fnideq, in northern Morocco, have just announced the start of the construction work of the Haidara industrial zone, and this after the completion of the technical studies. The establishment of this industrial zone comes after the definitive cessation of smuggling with Sebta.
Covering an area of 15 hectares, this zone will be built on a domain belonging to the State with the provision to private investors of units at attractive prices.
Thus, agreements have been signed with three companies, two dedicated to textile recycling and the third in the food industry and the enhancement of seafood products, according to the Map, which specifies that other projects should be announced soon.
This project, it is said, aims to improve employability and stimulate entrepreneurship among disadvantaged groups, particularly women and young people in the prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq.
