Morocco Launches Green Energy Initiative for Major Ports

The process of energy transition at the level of Moroccan ports is now a reality, thanks to the partnership sealed between the National Ports Agency (ANP) and Masen.
This partnership agreement translates on the ground the levers of this transition in port areas qualified as industrial spaces, major consumers of energy necessary for the functioning of the different logistical components of the ports.
The partnership was materialized through the signing, in Rabat, of the convention between the Director General of the National Ports Agency (ANP), Nadia Laraki, and the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Masen, Mustapha Bakkoury.
This partnership constitutes a first step towards addressing energy issues in ports. In the long term, the ANP will take advantage of Masen’s expertise to optimize energy uses in ports by promoting, as much as possible, the use of renewable energies and clean technologies, it is indicated.
The two parties therefore intend to combine their efforts to meet the challenge of renewable energies, environmental protection and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the national port landscape, while promoting a viable and profitable ecosystem, it is specified.
