Morocco Launches Free Cancer Treatment for Children Under 5

The Ministry of Health has launched an initiative aimed at providing free treatment for children under the age of five with cancer, in public health and hospital facilities.
According to a ministry statement, published on Thursday, December 26, the initiative is part of the royal directives aimed at harmonizing national legislative texts with international charters on the rights of the child.
It will also implement the recommendations of the 16th National Congress on the Rights of the Child, held in Marrakech from November 20 to 23, under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI and the effective chairmanship of Princess Lalla Meryem.
Held under the theme "The child, a national priority", the Congress had invited all the parties concerned to adopt a new results-oriented approach in order to recognize the child as the first wealth of the country and the African continent.
In this perspective, and according to the newspaper Assabah, the Ministry of Health has decided to establish free treatment for children under the age of five, without medical coverage under the compulsory health insurance.
