Morocco Launches Foreign Language Training for Police to Enhance Tourist Communication

Moroccan police officers will soon have to master foreign languages. This is the wish of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) which has just set up accelerated training through a guide.
Thus, according to the Hespress website, training in English, Spanish and French will soon be provided to police officers so that they can, it is hoped, communicate more easily with foreigners, especially tourists visiting the kingdom.
They will thus, explains the same source, communicate more easily "and ensure a good reception" in case of complaints.
Trainee police officers in schools, particularly in Kenitra, will be the first to benefit from these training courses before being generalized to other services, the same source reports.
French, which is very widespread in Morocco, is generally well understood by Moroccan police officers, which is not the case with English or Spanish.
